How do I share a chat?

Create a Snapshot or Live link to a chat, choose who can open it and when it expires, then copy the link or revoke it later.

These steps are for the web app. Temporary chats cannot be shared.

  1. Open the chat and click Share conversation in the top bar. You can also click the more actions button on the chat's row in the sidebar and choose Share….
  2. Under Link type, choose:
    • Snapshot: a fixed copy of the chat up to the latest message.
    • Live: the whole chat, including new messages as they arrive.
  3. Under Who can open it, choose:
    • Public: anyone with the link.
    • Workspace: members of this workspace. This option appears only in a team workspace.
    • Specific people: only the email addresses you add. Each person must use a verified email address.
  4. Optional: choose an expiry from Never expires, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days.
  5. Click Create and copy link. The link is copied to your clipboard.

Under Existing links, you can:

  • click Copy link to copy a link again,
  • click Edit access to change who can open it, or
  • click Revoke to stop the link working. Confirm with Revoke in the "Revoke this link?" prompt.

Once a link is revoked, nobody can open it with that link.

Files in a shared chat

Files people attached to the chat are not shared. The shared page shows "A file was attached here" in their place. Files Bluedeer made in the chat, such as pages, charts, images or documents, are included.

Share up to one message

To share the chat as it was at one message, hover over that message and click Share. Its tooltip reads "Share the conversation up to this message". This link is always a Snapshot that stops at that message, and later messages stay private.

If someone shares a chat with you

Open the shared chat and click Continue in chat. Bluedeer makes your own private copy in the workspace you have selected, and opens it. The original chat and its link do not change.
