How do I run, pause, edit or cancel a task?

Open a task from the Tasks page to run it now, pause or resume it, edit its details and schedule, or cancel it.

These steps are for the web app. You can also ask Bluedeer in a chat to pause, change or cancel a task.

Open a task

Click Tasks in the sidebar, then click the task. The task page has two tabs: Overview and Results & history.

Actions

The buttons you see depend on the task's status:

  • Run now starts a run straight away. It is not shown for a cancelled task.
  • Pause stops the task running on its schedule. It shows while the task is active. Resume starts it again on the saved schedule. It shows while the task is paused. If the task now needs permission for an action, the This task needs permission card shows first.
  • Edit opens the Edit task window. It is not shown for a cancelled task.
  • Cancel task stops the task for good. It shows while the task is active or paused.

In a team workspace you can open a teammate's task, but only the person who created it can run, change or cancel it.

Edit a task

In Edit task you can change:

  • Name and Instructions
  • the schedule: Once with a Run at time, Cron with a Cron expression, or Interval with Every (seconds) and Starting from
  • Time zone, for Once and Cron schedules
  • Completion notifications: Always, On change or Never
  • Notify on failure, a switch that turns failure notices on or off
  • Tool calls per run (optional). Leave it blank to use your plan's limit.

Cancel a task

Click Cancel task. A dialog asks you to confirm and explains that the task stops running and cannot be resumed. Click Cancel task to confirm, or Keep task to go back. The task's results and history stay available after it is cancelled.
