How do I rename, pin or delete a chat?

Use the buttons on a chat's row in the sidebar to rename it, pin it to the top of the list, or delete it.

These steps are for the web app. Each chat has its own row in the sidebar. Point at a chat to show its buttons.

Rename a chat

  1. Click the more actions button (three dots) on the chat's row.
  2. Click Rename.
  3. Edit the name in the Conversation name box, then press Enter or click the check mark button (its label is Save conversation name). To keep the old name, press Escape or click the X button (its label is Cancel renaming).

Pin a chat

Click the pin icon on the chat's row (its tooltip reads Pin conversation). Pinned chats move to the Pinned section at the top of the list. To remove the pin, click the pin icon again (Unpin conversation).

To pin a chat inside a project, see How do I add a chat to a project and pin it there?

Delete a chat

  1. Click the delete button on the chat's row (its tooltip reads Delete conversation).
  2. In the Delete conversation? dialog, click Delete.

The dialog selects Cancel first, so an accidental press of Enter does not delete the chat. Deleting removes the chat and all of its messages. This cannot be undone.

The same row menu also has Share…. See How do I share a chat?

Chats created by teammates

In a team workspace, you can rename, pin, delete and move to a project only the chats you created. For a teammate's chat, those buttons are not shown. You can still open it, and its menu still has Share….
